No data leaves your device

Quarry Skim is a stone-skimming game that runs entirely on your iPhone or iPad. It has no account system, no analytics, no advertising, and no server of its own. This page explains exactly what the app touches on your device and why.

What we collect

Nothing is collected, transmitted, or shared. Quarry Skim makes no network requests of any kind. There are no analytics tools, no advertising identifiers, no crash‑reporting SDKs, and no third‑party libraries embedded in the app. Apple's App Store listing for Quarry Skim states "Data Not Collected", and that is a literal description of how the app is built, not a legal minimum.

What stays on your device

The app saves the following locally, using Apple's on‑device Core Data and UserDefaults frameworks. None of it ever leaves your device, is backed up to any server we operate, or is visible to us in any form:

If you delete Quarry Skim, this data is deleted with it. iCloud/iTunes device backups may include this local data as part of your normal device backup, the same as any other app's local storage — this is controlled entirely by your iOS device settings, not by us.

Camera and Photo Library

Quarry Skim can use your camera or photo library for one feature only: adding a real stone you found on a beach ("a beach find") as a playable slate.

When you take or choose a photo of a stone, the app measures its outline directly on your device — shape, roundness and colour — and keeps only that small set of numbers plus whatever name you type in. The photograph itself is never stored, uploaded, or sent anywhere. It is discarded as soon as the outline has been measured. Photos are selected using Apple's standard picker (PHPicker), which does not grant the app access to your wider photo library.

Notifications

If you turn on reminders in Settings, Quarry Skim schedules local notifications directly on your device (for example, a nudge about the next daily lane). These notifications are generated and delivered entirely on‑device through Apple's frameworks. No push notification service or remote server is involved.

Children's privacy

Quarry Skim does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information at all. The app contains no chat, no user‑generated content shared with others, and no purchases.

Changes to this policy

If the way Quarry Skim handles information ever changes, this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change accordingly. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
