Quarry Skim
A fictional island stone-skimming game for iPhone and iPad.
What makes a throw count?
A throw only counts if the stone skips at least three times and stays inside the buoy-marked lane. Anything that sinks straight away is a "plonk" and does not score a distance.
Why was my stone rejected from my hand?
Every stone is checked against a 3-inch (7.6 cm) gauge ring before it can be thrown. Anything over that width is turned away, exactly as it would be at a real slate-quarry skimming day.
How do I add my own beach stone?
Open the Slate Pile tab and use the camera or photo button on a beach find. Quarry Skim traces the outline on your device and turns it into a playable pixel slate. The photo itself is never stored or sent anywhere — see the Privacy Policy for details.
Does Quarry Skim need the internet?
No. Everything, including your progress, works entirely offline. There is no account and nothing to sign in to.
Is this based on a real event?
No. Quarry Skim's islands, skimmers and results are fictional. The app has no affiliation with any real skimming competition, quarry or organisation.
